Kendall Anne Thompson, a graduate of The Boston Conservatory, made her Roxy debut as the Green Girl in SHOUT! THE MOD MUSICAL and has since appeared in DRACULA, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS (Aouda), and A CHRISTMAS CAROL (Belle/Mary). Kendall is staying on as a member of the Roxy company this season.
At the Roxy we have certainly been busy bees these past few weeks…. And I wouldn’t want it any other way! After closing Hamlet I had the privilege of joining Leslie Greene, Adrianne Wiley-Hatfield, and Thom Thayer in a beautiful production of Doubt. I was so very honored to work with these actors who I admire so much as artists and professionals in this business.
When not in rehearsals or performance for Doubt we were in rehearsals for our current production, and Regional premier, of Bea(u)tiful in the Extreme. The cast had the wonderful opportunity to work with guest director Mark Cabus on this project, and it has been an amazing experience working together as an ensemble to develop this production. It was very cool to work on a new play and work with Mark in a sort of workshop atmosphere to bring the director and playwrights vision to fruition. Such an exciting experience for us as artists, and we are thrilled to share this story with you!
After two solid months of hard work, we had two days off before starting our last week of performances for Bea(u)tiful in the Extreme. So some of the cast and myself took the chance to roam around Nashville on Sunday. It was so awesome to spend one of the most beautiful days we’ve had so far listening to live music and experiencing a whole new community of artists. It is always inspiring to see how communities in different areas express themselves artisitically, and it’s important as an actor to bring those influences into your own work. All in all it was a relaxing, educational and inspiring two days off!
I have loved being a part of these last three shows, and they have come and gone too fast. But it is always exciting to look ahead and see the amazing season the Roxy has put together for the rest of this year, and I am honored to be a part of the Roxy family!
