Pay-What-You-Can Opening Nights
This isn’t a gimmick. It’s not a ploy. We’re really serious about this.
Roxy Regional Theatre proudly offers pay-what-you-can tickets on the opening night of most productions. Pay-what-you-can previews on opening nights give everyone in the community, regardless of economic status, the opportunity to explore the live arts.
$5.00 minimum
The $5 per person minimum helps us to cover service fees which our organization is charged every time a ticket is purchased, regardless of the amount. And everyone can agree that this minimal donation is less than half of the price of a movie ticket.
$20.00 suggested
The $20 suggested ticket price isn’t based on how much it costs to present the show (this would make it much higher), and it isn’t based on the role we feel that money should take in artistic endeavors (this would make it much lower.) Instead it falls somewhere in between, and since this is where most of our other ticket prices fall, this is what we suggest.
…more if you have it…
If you can possibly afford to, consider throwing in a little bit extra.. This will help to take care of those who can’t. The theatre experience is intended for a large and diverse community, and it will make you feel good to know you have helped someone else enjoy the event.
…less if you don’t…
For some people, $20 is a lot of money, and for others, $5 is. We believe you know what is right for you, and if you aren’t able to give as much this time around, we know you will catch us on the rebound. We only have a few rules associated with this:
- Only available at the door, beginning 30 minutes prior to the performance
- Tickets sold for whatever price you wish to pay (but at least $5)
- Based on availability
- Pay-what-you-can dates for the 40th Anniversary Season are as follows:
