Two Weekends Left

Two weeks until I get to sleep in my bed, play with my dog, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and have a home cooked meal! There really is no place like home. Don’t get me wrong, I love my career. I love the travel, meeting new people, performing and the feeling I get when I’m on stage. But, that doesn’t mean that I don’t get home sick from time to time. Before I moved to Clarksville, I was working in Pigeon Forge for a year. I was playing The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at The Miracle Theater. I closed Joseph on New Year’s Day, packed up my house, and drove here to start rehearsals on January 3. Going home wasn’t option. I’ve been moving from theatre to theatre non stop since I was 19 years old. I’m very thankful for this amazing blessing. But, at the same time, family is important to me. And sometimes I miss them.

I’ve been in the doctors office every week since Feb. 1st. Don’t worry! I’m not sick. I’ve been getting medical and blood work done for my next job. I will be a Specialty Singer aboard a Celebrity Cruise Line ship: The Celebrity Equinox! I’ll be cruising from May-February 2012. My first port is Rome, Italy and will be cruising around Greece, Turkey, Portugal, Italy, Spain, and Sicily. Then in November, my port will change to Fort Lauderdale, FL and will be cruising around the Caribbean. I’m still in shock! Working on a cruise has been a dream of mine. My family and I would go on a cruise every year for vacation and I would be so envious of the singers aboard. I’ve been working towards this goal for years. It’s so surreal that it’s actually happening. And top it off, that I’m going to EUROPE! Wow!

The most common question I get in the meet and greet line at the end of Ain’t Misbehavin’ is: “Why do you list a bible verse in your bio? What does Jeremiah 29:11 mean to you?” I’ve always been a very spiritual person. I grew up in a religious household and talking about God was a regular conversation. It wasn’t until the last 2 years that I’ve become more connected to my spiritual side. People always want to know how actors stay employed and how do you know where you’re going to be next. That’s the thing: We don’t know. Which is way I always reply with: “I go where the Lord takes me”. I honestly believe that and I feel a strong connection to Jeremiah 29:11 for that same reason.
