I started taking acting lessons at the Roxy Regional Theatre five years ago when I was only twelve years old. My first day of acting class, I didn’t know anyone. I was so nervous and had no idea what to expect. Everyone there seemed to be so good at acting and knew so much about theatre. I thought I would never catch up to the other kids in the class. Fortunately for me, the directors in charge of the class, John and Tom, were very welcoming. They taught me what I needed to know and encouraged me to try new things. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of participating in several shows.
For anyone interested in any aspect of theatre, I strongly recommend taking acting lessons at the Roxy. I’ve learned so much over the years and couldn’t be more grateful for it. If it weren’t for the Roxy, I probably would never have gotten the chance to act. I encourage everyone to take this opportunity while they can. I’m going to college this fall and I know one thing I’ll miss about being a high school student is being able to go to the Roxy on Saturday mornings for acting class.
