“Almost Heaven, the Songs of John Denver” is now open. The show was a big hit with audiences this past weekend, including great crowds and a standing ovation. We have heard nothing but good things from those who have seen it, and that is always encouraging. It is amazing to me how you can work with a cast of people for only two weeks and how close you must, and do, become is such a short amount of time. The cast and crew has quickly become my family away from home. I am so proud of the work we have done on the show, and so excited to share our gifts with the people who will really appreciate it.
My home is Nashville, and I have lived there my entire life. Even so, I have traveled the country and soon the world ‘working.’ I use the term ‘working’ lightly, because my work is performing! How cool is that? I get to sing and dance and act and speak all over the world and get paid for it! I can also tell you, that it isn’t always peachy, but I have been so blessed to be able to do what I love and make a living out of it.
Now, on to rehearsals for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” It is shaping up to be a very enduring show featuring the youth in the area and the amazing talents of Travis Kendrick, playing Joseph. Life in Clarksville has been none stop for me the past few weeks. However, I do not regret my lack of sleep for a second. I have been eager to go to work every day. Not everyone can say that about their job!
