As many of you may be aware, our iconic marquee was severely damaged last November after being struck by a delivery truck. While working through the insurance claim process, our good friends at Harrison Signs bolstered the hanging pieces of metal as best they could and capped off the damaged electrical components of the marquee, allowing us to continue offering entertainment and educational opportunities to Clarksville and Middle Tennessee for the past year.
Now, at long last, an insurance settlement has been reached, and the restoration of the original 1947 marquee is beginning on October 4!
Memphis-based Balton Signs, who created the original Roxy marquee, is leading the restoration project. With the blessing of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission and the help of the Clarksville Streets Department and the Clarksville Police Department, the damaged marquee is scheduled to come down the afternoon of October 4 and undergo a full, historically accurate restoration. Balton Signs is anticipating a four- to six-week turnaround for the restored marquee to be reinstalled.
In the meantime, our good friends at Signs Now will be helping to make the area around where the marquee is being removed water-tight and installing temporary signage for the building during the restoration process.
*** WE ARE STILL OPEN! ***

We hope you will join us in celebrating this exciting development as we look forward to having our fully restored marquee as a beacon to all who visit Historic Downtown Clarksville!
