FACEBOOK LIVE: February Book Readings by Executive Director Ryan Bowie

by RoxyRegionalTheatre on February 2, 2021

While we continue to take a brief hiatus from films and performances in accordance with Governor Bill Lee’s executive orders limiting gatherings, the Roxy Regional Theatre is offering a fun (and free) way to experience the literary arts and unwind in the evenings with your family.

Join Roxy Regional Theatre Executive Director Ryan Bowie and special guests on Wednesdays and Saturdays in February at 5:00pm LIVE on the Roxy Regional Theatre’s Facebook page as they read aloud some of your favorite children’s stories (and some that will become your favorites).

In honor of Black History Month, February’s selections feature a host of children’s books celebrating diversity and inclusion:

  • Wednesday, February 3 – Mixed: A Colorful Story by Arree Chung
  • Saturday, February 6 – I Am Martin Luther King, Jr. by Brad Meltzer (read by Treston Henderson) and We March by Shane W. Evans
  • Wednesday, February 10 – Happy Dreamer by Peter H. Reynolds
  • Saturday, February 13 – I Am Rosa Parks by Brad Meltzer (read by Erica S. Harris) and The Youngest Marcher by Cynthia Levinson
  • Wednesday, February 17 – The Book With No Pictures by B.J. Novak
  • Saturday, February 20 – I Am Harriet Tubman by Brad Meltzer (read by Alexandria Smith)
  • Wednesday, February 24 – Where Oliver Fits by Cale Atkinson
  • Saturday, February 27 – Henry’s Freedom Box by Ellen Levine

While these readings are FREE to watch, donations to the Roxy Regional Theatre are appreciated and can be made via our Giving Matters page at https://bit.ly/2HXepgw.
