Clarksville Parks and Rec Summer Playhouse at the Roxy

Parks & Rec Summer Playhouse

For six weeks during the summer, the Roxy Regional Theatre hosts a summer drama camp sponsored by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department.  Children ages 9 to 18 learn basic acting techniques, improvisational skills and stage movement. Due to the ongoing pandemic and in the interest of the health and safety of students, families and staff, students will not be presenting their final performance to a live audience. The final performance will, however, be recorded, and parents and guardians will be provided with a link via email.

The 2021 Summer Playhouse program runs June 1 through July 8, with classes meeting Monday through Thursday from 12:30pm until 2:00pm (ages 9 to 12) and from 2:00pm to 3:30pm (ages 13 to 18). (There will be no class on Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day.)

Class sizes are capped at 30 students, so space is limited. Registration, which is $50 for the entire six-week program, will be available beginning April 1 at the Parks and Recreation office on Public Square or online.
