Downtown Clarksville Offers Multitude of Shopping Options

by RoxyRegionalTheatre on December 14, 2012

It’s that time again, when — after more Carols than you can shake a stick at — that cry of players who have spread such holiday cheer to so many will gather at our home, and we will party in gratitude for the season, the holiday and a job well done.

So, I’m off to shop in downtown Clarksville.

My best friend, Leslie Greene, will love anything from Rogate’s (115 Franklin). Rogate and Anne have a great fashion sense and offer chic and beautiful attire fit for any classy Clarksville lady, like my Leslie.

Ryan Bowie plays an affable Nephew Fred and personally is a Wolfgang Puck, Emeril and Martha Stewart, all rolled into one. So anything to do with the home and entertaining will be a perfect fit, and Monica and Mitchell have all of the (pardon the pun) Ingredients (100 Strawberry Alley) to make that happen.

Kaitlin Doughty is a fan of our newest restaurant and bar, Cloud 9 (corner of Franklin and 2nd), so a gift card for one of their signature drinks, tied into one of our productions, would be the perfect complement for this talented young actress.

Michelle Foletta is a coffee nut … or should I say bean? I find she is a regular at Grant’s New South Coffee Company (110 Franklin), so a gift card offering her lots of opportunities for myriad choices in the gourmet coffee department is sure to please her and will check her off my list.

Colin Ryan, our Christmas Present, is fortunate to have his family come into town to see him tread the boards. A great place to take them pre-theatre for dinner or, for that matter, for dessert, is Edward’s (107 Franklin). Linda, Gary and John Shephard offer Southern hospitality and a great steak dinner right across the street from the theatre.

Rob Rodems is on a physical fitness kick. He and the group of Rocky Horror performers did P90X to build themselves up so that corsets and garters would look good on their well-worked frames. Our newest store, Bink’s Outfitters (111 Franklin), has everything for the athletic and outdoorsy-minded, so I’m sure to find the perfect gift for this young leading man there.

Humberto Figueroa, who has been with us for eight years, ever since his days in Parks and Rec, is ready by way of experience and education to move on and I’m sure would like a Roxy memento — a Peg Harvill Roxy print or perhaps one of our new Roxy t-shirts.

Mildred & Mable’s (109 Franklin) hairdresser, Kimberlee Cavin, did a great job turning Matt Casey into Rocky, so I thought I would get a haircut coupon for someone near and dear.

A Christmas Carol continues with a rotating repertory of young thespians on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7pm and Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, with 2pm matinees tomorrow and December 22. The final performance at 8pm on Saturday, December 22, sadly ends the delightful run of this holiday classic.

See you at the theatre!
