In this loving musical send-up of the early 1960s, small-town America, teenagers and rock ‘n’ roll, teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie has captivated every girl in the nation. When he’s suddenly drafted into the Army, his managers devise a publicity stunt in which Conrad will bid all-American girl Kim McAfee goodbye with a public farewell kiss. Inspired by the drafting of Elvis Presley into the military, this family-friendly American classic features a hilarious script and tuneful high-energy hits including “Put on a Happy Face,” “One Last Kiss,” “One Boy,” “A Lot of Livin’ to Do,” “Kids!” and “Rosie.”
