A Classic

‘The Sound of Music’ is a classic. Julie Andrews twirling in the hills is iconic. I remember the first time I saw the movie. It was magical. I remember the first time I heard the musical score live, and in person. It was so moving. And now, the Roxy Regional Theatre is putting it on the stage in Clarksville, and I get to be a part of it! How cool is that?!

The short time I have been here, I have been blessed to be part of three very different types of shows, and yet all of them are special and meaningful to me personally. “Almost Heaven, the Songs of John Denver,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat,” and now of course “The Sound of Music.” The rehearsal process is always fun for me, its a time to be creative and play. This process is especially fun to be able to see such a show be brought to life in front of my eyes.

I am also blessed to have met some amazingly talented performers, as well as wonderful friends. Clarksville, you are so lucky to have this gem of a theatre in your own back yard. You must not take it for granted. Support these people who bring beauty into your world! Show them how much appreciate all they do for you, the community, and to the art!
